Design proposal for a book about the artist Andy Goldsworthy. Development of a book cover and inside spreads.

I was very inspired by the artist, Andy Goldsworthy. I was particularly drawn to a phrase that he mentioned in a film about his work, Working With Time. He says, “there is an inherent duality in the process of enclosure in that is simultaneously addresses both the inside and the outside space.”

I wanted the book to be a poetic depiction of his methods and ideas. I created the spreads with his practices in mind. I kept the layout of typography very dynamic. I wanted the reader to fully experience the book.
